Measuring Instructions for SunSetter Motorized and SunSetter Motorized XL Awnings
To get the right size SunSetter Awning for your deck, please measure your deck or patio following the easy directions below.

1. Measure the height of the wall where you want to install your awning. You need at least 7 ft. 6 in. from your deck or patio floor to the bottom of any roof, eave, or overhang to fit a SunSetter Awning.

2. Measure along the side of your house to decide how wide an awning you want. The SunSetter Motorized awning comes in pre-cut widths from 10 ft. to 20 ft. The SunSetter Motorized XL awning comes in pre-cut width from 14 ft. to 20 ft. With the exception of the 10 ft. awning, which measures 123" left to right, all other awnings measure exactly like their defined size. Example, a 12 ft. awning is 12 ft. wide. The actual fabric width is 4½" less than the total awning width.

3. Decide if you will install your awning on the wall (most common installation, using our standard wall brackets ), or to the underside of your overhang (make sure you request our soffit brackets for this type of installation). If your awning will be installed on the wall, you will need at least 8 inches of clear, unobstructed space horizontally along your wall where the awning will fit against the house. (Note: if you plan to purchase our optional protective Aluminum Hood for your awning, make sure you have at least 9 inches of space instead of 8 inches.)
